Psalm 84, Ephesians 6: 10-20, John 6: 56-69

Today we conclude five consecutive weeks reading about Jesus as the bread of life. I've been saying all along that this portion of the gospel lead to many falling away. We read it in John today, “'the one who eats this bread will live forever.' When many of his disciples heard it, they said, 'This teaching is difficult; who can accept it?' Because of this many of his disciples turned back and no longer went about with him.” It was a difficult teaching and so many did give up on the cause and walked away from Jesus. Today I want us to look at what it looks like for us to continue to follow Jesus and what it may be that makes some fall away.
